Duties

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for supporting a full range of Senior Tribal Child Care Technical Assistance Specialist duties within the Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families, Office of Child Care.

Typical work assignments include:
-Tracking and analyzing tribal grantee information from a wide range of sources, such as Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) plans and administrative data submitted by grantees, technical assistance (TA) contractor reports, and Administration for Children and Families (ACF) research studies on CCDF implementation, to identify program trends, accomplishments, innovations, and best practices, as well as gaps and concerns.
-Approving TA work plans may include products such as guides, briefs, templates, and tool kits and may address disasters and emergencies impacting child care and early childhood programs and systems.
-Collaborating and coordinating with partners, within OCC, ACF (including the Office of Early Childhood Development, Administration for Native Americans, and Office of Grants Management, and Office of Planning, Research and Evaluation), HHS' Office of General Counsel, and external entities, as needed on tribal child care technical assistance issues.

    Basic Requirement: You must meet one of the items listed below (A, B, or C):
    A. Possess a degree in behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. (Must provide transcripts)

    Specialized Experience:

    (1) Providing technical assistance to tribal grantees such as ensuring program compliance, supporting best practices or supporting tribal child care;
    (2) Coordinating the submission, compilation and/or analysis of programmatic data;
    (3) Providing technical assistance related to child care and/or other early childhood programs to states, territories and/or tribes;
    (4) Developing or providing input into written guidance on matters related to issues in child care and/or early childhood development programs.
