Primary Function

Join A. O. Smith's Corporate Technology Center as an Electronic Controls Research Engineer Co-op. In this role, you will collaborate with experienced engineers to design and test electronic control features for water heating and treatment products. Using cutting-edge technologies and software tools, you will contribute to the advancement of water technology.

Responsibilities
  • Electronic Controls Design - Assist in developing embedded control electronics for research projects.
  • Lab Experiments - Conduct laboratory experiments to support research initiatives.
  • Data Analysis - Analyze experimental data and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Debugging - Troubleshoot issues in electronic controls development.
  • Collaboration - Work in a team environment to meet research needs.
Qualifications
  • Sophomore standing or higher with the ability to co-op for multiple terms.
  • Knowledge of electronics and electrical engineering principles.
  • Experience in an electronics lab environment.
  • Proficiency in Python, C++, MATLAB, or LabView is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with guidance from senior staff.
