Lead Software Engineer

Job Summary

Cognizant is looking for a Lead Software Engineer with at least 15 years of experience in developing customized product for our clients. Cognizant needs a motivated individual to challenge the status quo and provide thought leadership/best practices to enhance our current services and technologies.

An ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working in a fast paced, collaborative environment. Someone that values the "team" and leverages the opinions and expertise of their teammates to deliver quality.

Location: Plano, TX (Hybrid)

Work Authorization: You should be legally eligible to work for any employer in the US without the need for a sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities :


• Lead the design, development, and deployment of software solutions using Java, Spring Boot, Azure, and Azure Container Services


• Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from requirement gathering to deployment and maintenance


• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment


• Ensure the scalability, performance, and security of applications by implementing best practices and industry standards


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and deliverables, ensuring alignment with business objectives


• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying areas for optimization and implementing innovative solutions


• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain high code quality and adherence to coding standards


• Manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and effective resource allocation


• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all software development processes and procedures


• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, integrating them into the development process as appropriate


• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and mitigation strategies


• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations


• Lead the implementation of DevOps practices, including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines

Required Qualifications:


• 15 years of hands-on experience with Java.


• Extensive Experience with writing unit tests


• Familiarity with Agile/SAFe software development principles


• Hands on with RESTful API development


• Knowledge of MVC and MVVM patterns


• Knowledge on Health Data Services, FHIR interoperability, and Liquid mapping


• Strong experience with end to end web application and RESTful APIs.
