The Lundquist College of Business is one of seven schools housing academic programs on the University of Oregon campus. Located 110 miles south of Portland, the University of Oregon has an enrollment of over 25,000. Lundquist Admissions within the College of Business provides a professional yet vibrant experience for our undergraduate and graduate students as they begin or continue their learning experience.

The College is seeking to fill up to seven (7) instructor roles (FTE (full-time equivalent) varies between .6 and 1.0). Employment begins September 16, 2024. Employment is continuous and summer appointments may be available. The School of Accounting and the Departments of Finance, Management, Marketing and Operations & Business Analytics are seeking talented faculty who are passionate about teaching and learning to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in the following areas:

Accounting
Courses at either the undergraduate or graduate level. Courses may be related to financial accounting, cost accounting, auditing, tax, accounting data analytics, financial statement analysis, or ESG reporting.

Finance
Courses at either the undergraduate or graduate level. Courses may be related to economic foundations of competitive analysis, financial management, investments, international finance, sustainable finance, impact investing, Fintech, or wealth management.

Management
Courses at either the undergraduate or graduate level. Courses may be related to sustainable business practices, human resource management, leadership and communication, organizational behavior, negotiation, or business writing.

Marketing
Courses at either the graduate or undergraduate level. Courses may be related to introductory marketing for non-business majors, marketing management, marketing research, marketing analytics, sustainable marketing, or consumer behavior.

Operations & Business Analytics
Courses at either the graduate or undergraduate level. Courses may be related to business analytics, business database management, python data analytics, sustainable supply chain, or operations management.

Sports Business
Courses at either the graduate or undergraduate level. Courses may be related to sports business (sports marketing, branding, sponsorship, sports and society, sports finance, sports analytics) and/or subjects such as marketing, management, brand management, sustainability, or product development.

Sustainability
Courses at either the graduate or undergraduate level. Courses may be related to fundamentals of sustainable business, sustainable business development, sustainable business strategy, global sustainability, the future of work, sustainable finance and investing, ESG reporting, organizational transformation, or supply chain sustainability.

Position Summary
Responsibilities for a career instructor role include teaching primarily core undergraduate classes (lower and upper division), pre-business fundamental courses, and in some cases graduate courses. These positions may involve advising students, participating in committee membership, and other assignments.

Typical responsibilities for this position(s) include:
1. Teaching up to eight (8) courses at the undergraduate or graduate level; course load will be adjusted based on actual FTE for the role and/or additional duties as negotiated with the Department Head and Senior Associate Dean.
2. Engaging in service and professional development opportunities (up to .2 FTE) - activities could include department, college, or university roles or committees and/or responsibilities in recognized professional organizations.
3. Communicating with students during office hours regarding course-related activities.

Minimum Requirements

• One year of academic teaching experience in higher education or equivalent (such as designing and implementing training, short courses, or workshops).

• Master's degree in area of interest.

Professional Competencies

• Strong pedagogical background and excellent communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds.

• Interest, experience, and/or ability to promote cultural competency and/or diversity.

Preferred Qualifications

• Business experience.

• Experience teaching at both undergraduate and graduate level.
