The opportunity
The Senior Manager, Quality Assurance is responsible for managing and providing technical guidance to the QA team. They will also be responsible for contributing to product success through testing, identifying and writing test cases, analyzing requirements, creating test plans and tracking issues. They will work side by side with developers to improve overall software quality and provide recommendations for opportunities to improve the product.
The Senior Manager, Quality Assurance reports to the VP, Product Development.
We're looking for someone who can:
- Manage and grow a team of QA Engineers, guide them to test and automate new features and regression test cases.
- Provide technical guidance to the team for better quality, reports and test coverage.
- Collaborate with development and product managers on sprint planning and provide metrics on the testing process.
- Manage/oversee/contribute to the creation of test cases and test plans and assist in meeting testing deliverables.
- Participate in dialog with Product Owners and Developers in discussing current and proposed plans, defects, enhancements and other issues.
- Participate in dialog about Quality Assurance processes, test methodologies, requirements analysis and defect tracking.
- Improve overall QA department's testing effectiveness and efficiency by identifying and implementing continuous improvements.
- Analyze and implement strategies for leveraging QA tools and techniques, including opportunities for automation, to create measurable improvements.
- Support the GivingData Help Desk as needed and occasionally serve as backup for trouble ticket submission triage.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years in a quality assurance lead/management role
- Proven experience as a quality assurance manager managing both manual and automation testing
- Thorough knowledge of methodologies of quality assurance and standards
- Must be knowledgeable about computer applications/systems/tools commonly used for tracking QA; eg: TestRail, Asana, or equivalent
