The Role

The Quality team specifically ensures all loans are compliant with our internal credit policy, procedures, and investor requirements. By doing so, the department helps the firm mitigate risk of non compliance and ensures our loans are high-quality for our customers, our investors and our stakeholders. The Quality Assurance Auditor is responsible for auditing loans from application through loan servicing. As a result, this role will minimize risk, maintain a high level of regulatory and procedural compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily quality assurance reviews on Bridge & Rental Loans as they move through each stage of the process from application through payoff to ensure compliance with real estate regulations, policies and procedures
  • Review loan files for completeness, identify missing documentation, and issue findings on discrepancies
  • Ensure data integrity in the loan origination system, contribute to the design of new audits as needed
  • Maintain the accuracy of departmental logs for adverse files, imaged files and post closing documents
  • Summarize in writing key findings and effectively communicate What needs to happen and Why
  • Escalate to management all unresolved issues, where appropriate
  • Identify areas of improvement in the operations process and propose recommendations or suggestions to improve efficiencies
  • Provide support to management by organizing operations records in a manner that supports easy and timely retrieval when loan files and documentation are requested by Auditing, Compliance, Risk, and Examiners
  • Train and educate other operations-teams on industry standards, investor perspective or internal guidelines as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • 2-4 years of mortgage loan auditing, quality assurance practices and/or regulatory compliance review
  • Experience with residential mortgage lending, good knowledge of lending regulations, and credit/collateral analysis practices
  • Knowledge of fix & flip hard money loans a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; must be able to adapt well to a fast paced and constantly changing business environment; work independently and effectively to a deadline; high attention to detail and accuracy; PC proficient at the intermediate level; comfortable with new technology systems and paperless environment, demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment; demonstrated ability to provide good customer service

Kiavi takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. The expected annualized base pay range for this full-time role to be performed remotely is 60K to 90K + 9K bonus + benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries. Within the range, the successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions.   • Remote Work Policy: Kiavi supports working remotely for day to day activities for most roles and occasionally may ask employees to gather in person for key meetings, trainings, team building etc. For remote workers, Kiavi offers a one-time office setup reimbursement of up to $500 and a monthly $75 stipend for internet and phone expenses. For in-office workers, Kiavi offers employer contributions to commuter benefits account, either for parking or public transportation.
  • Flexible Time Off: Employees are empowered to manage their own time off, with no strict limits, as long as it's approved by their manager.
  • Paid Leaves: Up to 8 weeks of paid leave for medical or caregiver purposes, and 12 weeks of paid maternity/paternity leave. Short-term disability leave is also available for birthing mothers.
  • 401(k) & Company Match: A 401(k) plan managed by Fidelity, with Kiavi matching 100% of contributions up to 3% of compensation or $4,000 (whichever is less). All employer contributions are immediately vested.
