US REMOTE System Engineer in Application and Delivery Team

The Senior Application Support / Delivery Systems Engineer performs delivery systems administration and supports our applications both internal and customer facing. The position is responsible for maintaining services including Jenkins and Artifactory and supporting applications across various environments. This is a hands-on operational role performing Tier 2 support.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Architecture, Operation Engineers, QA, and software development teams to execute code releases across diverse environments.
  • Diagnose and resolve configuration and deployment issues throughout scheduled release cycles.
  • Oversee and administer Platform Engineering applications such as Jenkins, Artifactory, and Chef, serving as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Jenkins and Artifactory.
  • Drive continuous improvement in CI/CD processes in collaboration with Platform Engineering and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with onsite and remote teams to facilitate software deployments for both customer-facing and internal applications, ensuring high availability and operational stability.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years' experience in a hands-on platform release role including: Linus, Git, Groovy, Python or Linux shell languages and open-source release software.
  • 3+ years' solid experience managing and using Jenkins servers and services.
  • 3+ years' solid experience managing and using Artifactory or Nexus servers and services.
  • Proficiency working within Scrum or other Agile development environments.
  • Experience using GitHub.
  • Preferred experience with recipes and cookbooks using CHEF or similar technologies.
  • Preferred experience in AWS (Amazon Web Services) or equivalent cloud services.
  • Preferred experience with Pingdom, Jira, Splunk, PRTG, OpsGenie
  • Preferred experience with coordinating releases with international teams.
  • Ability to multi-task large deployment releases in a complex, client-facing platform environment.
