This position is not benefit-eligible.

This position supports the sterilization and processing of instruments and small equipment in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. This position is also responsible for the distribution of instruments to the dental students within the OMS department.

Instrument control:
- Cleaning and sterilization of OMS instruments
- Cleaning and sterilization of instrument trays from the OMS clinic(s)
- Distribution of appropriate instruments and supplies to dental students and residents in the OMS department

Inventory Control:
- Monitor supply levels within OMS clinic/laboratory
- Ordering of appropriate supplies under the supervision of the department chair
- Restock of laboratory/ clinic areas

Infection Control:
- Monitor laboratory and supply room areas and ensure appropriate processes are followed for infection control
- Serve as a committee member for COD OSHA committee
- Provide feedback and information to the department chair regarding the status of clinic/laboratory processes within the OMS department

Position requirements include: Knowledge of OSHA guidelines, sterilization protocols, and hazardous materials. Background Check Required - Including Drug Screening High School Diploma or GED Vocational or Technical Training - Some experience in healthcare or a clinical setting. Two years of experience in sterilization is preferred.
