Men's Lacrosse Coaching Assistant

Position Overview:
The Assistant Coach for Men's Lacrosse plays a crucial role in mentoring and training student-athletes, fostering their tactical, technical, and physical skills necessary for success at the Division III intercollegiate level. This full-time, 10-month role involves collaboration with the head coach in evaluating skills, planning practices, and overseeing athletic competitions.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree is mandatory.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required, with eligibility for insurance coverage by the College.
- Prior experience as a lacrosse coach at the high school or collegiate level is essential.
- Strong communication skills are necessary to build and maintain relationships with students, parents, alumni, faculty, staff, and other college personnel.
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision is required.
- Familiarity with NCAA rules and regulations is a must.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct personalized training sessions with players to enhance their skills and techniques outside of regular practice hours. Supervise student workers as assigned.
- Collaborate with the Head Coach to develop competitive teams within the conference, region, and nationally, maximizing the talents of student-athletes while promoting teamwork and academic success.
- Assist in recruitment efforts by establishing and nurturing relationships through various communication methods. Support the Head Coach in evaluating athletic talent of prospective student-athletes based on their potential for growth.
- Help manage equipment, apparel, and facility maintenance as directed by the Head Coach.
- Support administrative tasks such as coordinating team travel, managing credit card reconciliations, and ensuring timely communication.
- Ensure adherence to all NCAA Division III, Rhodes College, and Southern Athletic Conference rules and guidelines, partnering with the compliance office to maintain standards.
- Regular attendance is essential for fulfilling the responsibilities of this position.
Physical Requirements:
- Medium Work: The role may require exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
- The position involves both sedentary work indoors and active engagement in various outdoor environments while coaching and training student-athletes, including lifting and some manual labor.
- Evening and weekend hours may be necessary, along with travel in various weather conditions.
