Job Title: Investment Accountant III at CareSource

The Investment Accountant III plays a key role in managing the day-to-day accounting functions related to investment portfolios, focusing on accurate and timely reporting of investing activity while ensuring compliance with accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee monthly investment reporting, reconciliation, and journal entry functions, including reviewing Clearwater reports for accuracy
  • Research appropriate accounting treatment for new investments, including alternative options
  • Lead implementation of new accounting standards related to investments
  • Prepare financial disclosures and investment schedules for statutory reporting and audited financial statements
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to internal accounting processes
  • Liaise between the Investment team, Treasury department, Corporate, and Health Plan Accounting teams
  • Implement internal controls for related entities in line with Model Audit Rule requirements
  • Provide ad-hoc information, schedules, and analysis as needed
  • Support internal and external audit activities
  • Perform any additional job duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required
  • 4 years of accounting/finance experience with at least 1 year in investment accounting
  • Experience with managed care or healthcare preferred
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and Clearwater Analytics a plus

Skills and Certifications:

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and/or STAT accounting principles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication and organizational skills
  • CPA or equivalent certification preferred

Working Conditions:

  • General office environment with occasional travel requirements

Compensation:

The compensation for this position at CareSource ranges from $69,000 to $111,000. CareSource considers various factors including education, experience, role complexity, and more when determining salary levels. Additionally, CareSource offers a comprehensive total rewards package to ensure the well-being of every employee.
