Job Summary:In this role, you will monitor and resolve security, life safety, and emergency systems affecting Bechtel's employees and property. You will assist with surveys, audits and with the development of security guard instructions and emergency plans. You will present and explain project or site procedural safeguards to management and clients. Your work will help ensure security program compliance at Bechtel.
Major Responsibilities:Level 1
- Assists with monitoring security, life safety and emergency systems
- Assists with resolving alarms and other emergency conditions affecting the safety and security of Bechtel employees and property
- Assists with preparing/presenting security presentations for management and clients explaining the project, jobsite, office or functional/services units' physical and procedural safeguards
- Assists with security surveys and audits to ensure compliance with security programs
Level 2
- Monitors security, life safety and emergency systems
- Resolves alarms and other emergency conditions affecting the safety and security of Bechtel employees and property
- Assists with security surveys and audits to ensure compliance with security programs
- Assists in the development of security guard instructions, security/emergency plans, and other documents pertaining to the physical security of the jobsite/office
- Assists more senior security employees with the preparation and distribution of security plans, reports, and studies
- Prepares/presents security presentations for management and clients explaining the project, jobsite, office or functional/services units' physical and procedural safeguard
Level 1
- Required a University Hire with less than 1 year of experience or 4-5 years of relevant work experience
Level 2
- Required a University Hire with 1-2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience
- Experience in private sector security, law enforcement, military service or a communication center environment
- Knowledge and interest in domestic and global security issues
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends and holidays, and fill in for other Security Coordination Center (SCC) personnel as required
- Strong oral and written communication skills; an ability to communication is a concise, clear, and professional manner, detailing vital information to peers and superiors and other Bechtel employees
- Analytical skills; an ability to pull together relevant data from a variety of sources, making a judgement on the utility of the information and its potential impact on Bechtel security operations
- Composure; an ability to handle emergency situations in a calm and efficient manner
- Discretion and a firm commitment to protect Bechtel proprietary information. Must be able to maintain confidential and sensitive information
- An ability to work independently and make decisions without immediate input from supervisor
- A team player with a desire to assist other SCC Specialists in their duties and the ability to provide and receive constructive feedback
- Strong Microsoft Office Suite and general computer skills
