Job Overview


Provide quality career coaching and a broad spectrum of career services to facilitate experiential learning and post-graduation employment objectives aligned with the university's Bearcat Promise mission for graduating UC Clermont students with a degree, resume of experience and career plan.

Work with alumni and employers to establish and maintain relationships that are beneficial to students' career development and individual goals.

Essential Functions

  • Actively cultivates fruitful employer partnerships through community outreach efforts and tracks/collects employment statistics of college graduates.
  • Manage relationships with new and existing employer partners to provide support in developing high quality internship/co op programs.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff and administration to develop organize, promote, and implement experiential learning opportunities for students learning in person and online.
  • Develop short and long range goals to strengthen partnerships with existing employers and establish partnerships with new employers.
  • Manage outreach to potential employers through marketing materials and targeted events.
  • Maintain employer data.
Track employer contacts to facilitate record keeping, goal setting and follow-up activities.

  • Engage with employers and alumni to impact experiential learning programs for students such as shadowing, career treks/industry visits, and the like.
  • Develop and implement programs of career exploration and planning, including workshops, seminars, small group sessions.
  • Assist with the execution of career center events and programs consistent with the center's mission, including departmental marketing, community outreach, etc.
  • Serve as a Career Coach to students, providing assistance with career exploration, major selection, resume development, job searching, interview preparation, and networking.
  • Participate in professional development activities to ensure professional growth and knowledge needed to provide effective leadership.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need.

Required Education

Bachelor's Degree.

Required Experience

Three (3) years of relevant work experience

in higher education or One (1) year with graduate level experience and Master's degree.

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Extensive work experience in developing and delivering career management training and career advising services to students in higher education.
  • Experience in university career center employer relations or college recruitment program.
  • Experience developing a strategy to meet quantifiable objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create and maintain working relationships and professional networks.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Skilled in preparing clear and concise reports, policies, procedures, correspondence, and other written materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to set and achieve goals.
  • Knowledge of current business and recruiting trends.
  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to the needs of student populations and online learners
  • Knowledge of computerized career center database programs (Handshake), understanding of website development/maintenance.
