Duties
  • You will analyze, evaluate, and review proposed and on-going procurement and cost and pricing data for highly complex multi-year acquisition of major systems.
  • You will develop and present convincing oral/written presentations to all levels of government and industry..
  • You will serve on a variety of high-level boards and committees including representation and/or liaison with DoD/DON/MC.
  • You will conduct presentations and briefings at the DoD/DON/MC and Command levels as a recognized authority.
  • You will serve as a first-level supervisor leading a team of contract specialists and other professional, technical or support staff.

    • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

      Qualifications

      In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning, directing, and coordinating contractual and procurement policy actions involved in supporting sophisticated and technologically advanced systems acquisition programs to ensure that mission responsibilities of the command are achieved.

      Education

      Applicants must meet the following Basic Education Requirement of the Department of Defense Qualification Standard for Contracting Positions:

      A bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees.

      NOTE: The education requirement listed above applies only to individuals entering DoD GS-1102 positions on or after October 1, 2000. Current civilian personnel in DoD who occupied GS-1102 positions or contracting positions with authority to award or administer contracts above the simplified acquisition threshold in an Executive Department on or before September 30, 2000 are exempt from meeting this requirement. Current military members who occupied a similar occupational specialty to the GS (or equivalent) 1102 or before September 30, 2000 are also exempt from meeting this requirement.

      PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ). To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation.

      This is a Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project
      (AcqDemo) position in the NH-04 broadband with an advertised pay range from
      the lowest equivalent GS 14 grade Step 1 to the highest equivalent GS 15 grade
      step 10 in the broadband. However, this position is covered by a salary
      control point within the NH-04 broad band and the salary range is $139,395 to
      $191,900. If your current salary is above this amount, your salary 'may' be
      matched.
