PRIMARY PURPOSE:

As a Cook Wok, you will be responsible for preparing and wok-cooking specified menu items. You will also set the stage for guest experience with your welcoming smile and service. By understanding their unique stories and needs, you will own their experience to create WOW memories they will carry with them far and beyond their stay with us.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow recipe and/or product directions for preparing and wok-cooking all specified menu items, work with a sense of urgency to meet time goals while adhering to recipe standards, and display an attention to detail and food presentation
  • Taste the product, follow the menu, estimate food requirements, check production and keep records in order to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment
  • Follow food safety regulations and standards to include temperature/time tracking for food and equipment
  • Clean and sanitize work station and equipment
  • Identify and inform the Chef regarding any problems on station
  • Maintain proper stocking of assigned station
  • Assist Chef in menu preparation, service and breakdown of function
  • Capable of working in public on live stations and maintain superior appearance standards
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays

PREFERRED:

  • Three (3) years high volume wok cooking experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Bi-lingual Cantonese/Mandarin

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Health card

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledgeable of wok style techniques and cooking methods
  • Must be capable of following directions and possess good recall and memory
  • Knowledge of standard knife skills, kitchen equipment and supplies, including, but not limited to toasters, refrigerators, and coolers, slicers and beverage machines
  • Knowledge of health, safety and sanitation regulations
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms
  • Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • This role includes frequent standing and bending
  • Constant walking, reaching, balancing and grasping items in a food preparation area
  • It also includes lifting carrying and pushing up to 50 lbs.
