A Day in the Life

  • Routinely acts as the technical project leader for multiple projects, interacts with clients on a weekly basis (or as needed) to provide updates, reviews and evaluates data, writes reports and protocols.
  • Responsible for the regulatory and scientific conduct of assay development, validation, and stability projects for new projects.
  • Performs a variety of complex sample preparation and analysis procedures
  • Works with multiple functional groups to meet business needs
  • Sets up and maintains analytical instrumentation
  • Trains on routine operation, maintenance and theory of analytical instrumentation, SOPs, and regulatory procedures and guidelines
  • Ensures QA findings are addressed appropriately
  • Provides assistance and training to other team members
  • Performs work assignments accurately, and in a timely and safe manner
  • Reviews, interprets, and analyzes data for technical, quality and compliance to protocols, methods, SOPs, client criteria and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) or Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in lab sciences such as biology, biochemistry, immunology, chemistry, molecular biology or similar

Experience

  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable 6+ year) or equivalent combination of education, training, & experience.
  • OR Masters degree and previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable 4+ year)
  • OR PhD (preferred) and previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable 2+ year)

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Independently performs analytical testing, method optimization/validation, and/or other specialty technologies studies OR method transfers for pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical compounds in a variety of formulations and/or delivery systems. Understands and conforms to methods, and protocols applicable to assigned tasks.
  • Support testing and analysis in the biomarker and vaccine departments (run assays, prepare samples, lab documentation)
  • Looking for someone who can be a Lab Leader, run samples and help organize projects
  • Manual dexterity (pipetting, operate lab equipment, etc.)
  • Experience performing RNA/DNA/qPCR/RT-qPCR/ddPCR, sequencing, molecular genomics assays
  • Follow lab safety guidelines and use appropriate aseptic techniques
  • Communicate effectively and follow detailed written and verbal instruction
  • Manage time effectively to complete assignments in expected time frame
  • Maintain a laboratory notebook and complete all documentation with clear and accurate language according to the Standard Operating Procedures
  • Prepares and reviews study protocols, project status reports, final study reports and other project-related technical documents
  • Communicates data and technical issues to clients as needed
  • Leads analytical (procedural and instrumental) trouble shooting sessions
  • Validated problem solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Confirmed ability in technical writing skills
  • Ability to train junior staff
