Ibotta is seeking a Senior Technical Manager, Product Analytics who thrives in a fast-paced product development environment to join our Product Analytics team and contribute to our mission to Make Every Purchase Rewarding.


This role offers the opportunity to lead a high-performing team focused on providing data-driven insights to our product teams. You will play a key role in shaping the future of our products by translating user behaviors into actionable insights that drive product strategy, growth, and user engagement. The Senior Manager will partner with product leaders across one or more product areas, which could range from serving brands supplying rich offer content to our network, consumers redeeming rewards on purchases, and/or publishers distributing offer content across our rewards network. You will lead an established team of decision scientists and work collaboratively to define the roadmap and strategy for building robust data science capabilities within Product Analytics.

This position is located in Denver, Colorado as a hybrid position requiring 3 days in office, (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Candidates must live in the United States.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead a team that could include a combination of decision scientists, data scientists, and/or analytics engineers to deliver impactful product analytics solutions.
  • Work across the product development lifecycle, partnering with product managers, engineers, designers, and researchers to define product success metrics, analyze user behaviors, measure the impact of new features, and identify future opportunities.
  • Develop and implement a robust analytics strategy for assigned product areas, including defining KPIs, designing tracking plans, and building self-serve reporting in Looker.
  • Champion a data-driven culture by proactively identifying and prioritizing exploratory analytics projects that surface insights from the user journey to inform product direction.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering teams to design, implement and validate analytics tracking events in our data lakehouse (Databricks) to ensure efficient data collection and analysis.
  • Implement rigorous A/B testing frameworks and methodologies to evaluate the effectiveness of new features, particularly for our more mature products.
  • Develop data-driven approaches for measuring the impact of new features for 0-1 products, leveraging leaner experimentation methodologies as appropriate.
  • Leverage your technical expertise (Python, Spark, Airflow, GitHub, LookML, etc.) to build and optimize data pipelines and reporting/analytics/data science workflows.
  • Serve as player-coach, applying technical expertise suited to the product areas supported - quantitative analysis, experimentation, data mining, predictive modeling, data modeling, ETL, etc.

What we are looking for:

  • 8+ years of experience in product analytics, data science, and/or analytics engineering.
  • 4+ years leading analytics teams
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field - Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or similar; Advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • Experience designing and implementing analytics tracking plans and building data and reporting pipelines using tools like Databricks, Airflow, Python, GitHub and Looker
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively influence cross-functional teams.
  • A passion for building and iterating on data-driven products, a strong understanding of user behavior and product development principles and the ability to tie insights to measurable product outcomes.
  • Knowledge and application of statistical modeling techniques (regularized regression, time series, tree-based models, clustering, etc.) and development of analytical tools
  • Experience building and deploying data science models in production a big plus
  • Applying data access controls, interacting with REST APIs, developing Python libraries a big plus
