The . Department of the Interior (DOI) is seeking talented and dedicated law students for their Legal Internship Program.

With nearly 200 practicing attorneys in the headquarters office and more than 300 attorneys nationwide, the Office of the Solicitor is responsible for the legal work of the DOI.

This internship program offers students the opportunity to gain practical experience in advising agencies on legal aspects and participating in complex civil litigation.

Their mission is to protect and manage the natural resources and cultural heritage of the United States.

The DOI is responsible for managing and conserving federal land and natural resources, as well as providing scientific and technical expertise on natural resource issues.


Job Description:

As a legal intern at the Office of the Solicitor, students will have the opportunity to conduct legal research on a variety of environmental and administrative law issues, as well as issues involving Indian law.

They will also assist with drafting legal memoranda, briefs, and motions, and participate in conference calls and strategy sessions with other agency counsel.

There may also be opportunities to attend hearings and meetings in the Washington, . area.
