  • Climate and Energy: Promoting a swift transition to sustainable energy solutions while challenging reliance on fossil fuels.

Internship Overview
We invite law students from across the nation to apply for a summer legal internship. Interns will have the opportunity to work closely with attorneys on various aspects of case development and litigation strategy. Responsibilities may include:

  • Drafting legal documents such as pleadings and briefs.
  • Conducting legal research and analysis.
  • Formulating legal strategies and theories.
  • Gathering evidence and attending client meetings.
  • Participating in court proceedings.

Program Features
The internship program includes a series of enriching experiences, such as:

  • In-person and virtual seminars with attorneys and guest speakers on contemporary environmental issues.
  • Networking opportunities with local and regional environmental organizations.
  • A workshop focused on job interview preparation.

Compensation
This internship is a paid position, with a stipend determined by any external funding secured by the intern. A base stipend will be provided at the start of the internship, subject to applicable taxes.

Application Process
Eligible candidates must be enrolled in a U.S. law school and available for a full-time commitment during the summer. Interested applicants should submit a complete application, including:

  • Resume.
  • Cover letter addressing relevant background, interest in Earthjustice's mission, and specific environmental issues of concern.
  • A legal writing sample of no more than 10 pages.
  • Unofficial transcript.

Finalists may be asked to provide references from legal professionals or faculty members.
