Position Overview:Do you want to play a key role in Single-Family's Innovation, Data Engineering and Analytics (IDEA) Transformation journey? Freddie Mac's Single Family Division is currently seeking a Risk Analytics Professional. In this position, the incumbent would be responsible for performing quality assurance on data engineering processes designed to bring data from source systems to target environments to support modeling, analytics and reporting needs as a member of the MEDA (Modeling, Econometrics and Data Analytics) team. IDEA has a critical function to manage and maintain business data and identify new data sets/solutions to enabling analytics for policy refinements, model development and portfolio reporting using innovative techniques such as Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence and Big Data/Cloud Technologies. **This position is a hybrid work schedule, requiring 2 days in the office and 3 days remote**

- Under normal supervision, perform design and operation effectiveness testing of IDEA data sources
- Document test execution, ensuring that all appropriate risks are identified and documented.
- Logical thinker performing data analysis
- Assist with the development and maintenance of detailed procedures that document automated test plans and scripts
- Contribute to a team of experienced and junior staff that carries out automated testing activities
- Automate testing and validations
- Perform hands-on testing per plan and complete follow-ups to ensure that they are completed timely and aligned with the corporate automated testing standards
- Prepare test reports that identify and communicate issues and recommendations where necessary
- Partnering with appropriate groups within IDEA, SF Risk users and IT to ensure timely and appropriate corrective actions are implemented
- Providing senior management with timely status updates and communication of issues
- Analyze and test large datasets (Structured and Unstructured data – XMLs, JSONs, PDFs) using big data platform.
- Would be required to engage using Python, PySpark, PIG, HIVE scripts to filter/map/aggregate data.
- Facilitate data loads required for testing
- Troubleshoot complex technical and data issues to resolve them
- Test R&D and exploratory analysis developments
- Assist with management reporting related to automated testing activities
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, related discipline or equivalent work experience
- 3 or more years of Backend data operations testing experience within the financial services industry
- Experience documenting business processes and functions
- Ability to analyze and assess the adequacy of test scenarios and identify opportunities for test script improvements
- 3+ years of data analysis experience, with a combination of business and technical skills
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- 3+ years of SQL programming experience
- Experience with test automation tools
- Experience with test and defect tracking tools
- Experience with HP ALM or other defect tracking tool

- Curiosity to learn
- Programming experience on Python(including Machine learning libraries), R, SAS, Spark and Hadoop
- Knowledge of secondary mortgage market and Freddie Mac's business; Mortgage industry experience or financial / credit analysis
- Knowledge of Freddie Mac internal models and processes
- Understanding of Loan Origination, securitization, and/or middle and back office functions
- Ability to develop effective relationships across the firm, including with senior leaders
- Proactive self-starter with good communication skills and a strong work-ethic
- Proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint required
