As a first line operational risk management and business services team, Multifamily Governance and Business Services (G&BS) Department at Freddie Mac enables the Multifamily business to make smart, risk-informed decisions and provides effective engagement and integration with the second and third lines of defense. Our Impact:The mission of the Multifamily G&BS department is to (1) drive strong operational risk management knowledge and practices in Multifamily and the Enterprise that enables Multifamily to make informed, risk-based decisions and strengthen decision-making and (2) promote efficient business operations through select services, including operational risk management, management reporting, SharePoint development, training, and other business support activities.
Your Impact:The Risk & Controls Manager is responsible for managing the risk and control self-assessment assessment program and with a focus on controls self-testing. This position reports to the Multifamily G&BS Risk Management Senior Director.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree
- 5-7 years of audit and/or operational risk management experience
- Strong risk and control self-assessment skills/expertise
- Prior experience managing small-to-medium sized projects/initiatives
- Prior experience developing and delivering training
- Strong communications skills
Key to success in this role:
- Intellectual agility and interpersonal flexibility
- Strong consultation and communication skills
- Ability to work with and collaborate across the team and where silos exist
- Comfortable in the space between no longer and not yet
- Ability to use data to help inform strategy and direction
