What you will do
Lets do this. Lets change the world. In this vital role you will be responsible for developing & performing financial analysis and business analytics. Will provide crucial site support for cross-functional financial, analytical, reporting and intercompany reconciliation activities. Interact with a wide range of leadership and staff across Amgen.
Perform and review monthly accounting close activities including variance analysis, balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries.Consolidate and report site inventory balances by product/site and perform detailed monthly variance analysis.Calculate and record intercompany profit-in-inventory (PII) eliminations monthly to ensure compliance with US GAAPWork closely with Tax Transfer Pricing and Treasury to help execute Amgens transfer pricing strategy.May participate in the annual standard costing process and ad hoc standard costing updates as required by the distribution sites.Exercise sound judgment, initiative, and a strong internal control focus in handling quarterly SOX process certification by compiling, sampling, and reviewing control documentation.Prepare and review audit schedules and answer complex questions from internal and external auditors.Identify opportunities to streamline assigned processes and cross-train with peers.Collaborate with process partners to proactively determine and implement continuous improvement opportunities that will enable an efficient and effective accounting close process.Manage special projects for which Global Accounting representation is required, including company expansion, business acquisitions and divestitures, and financial system implementations.Manage and lead the outsourced provider team.WinWhat we expect of you We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. Basic Qualifications: Doctorate degreeOr Masters degree and 2 years of Accounting experienceOr Bachelors degree and 4 years of Accounting experienceOr Associates degree and 8 years of Accounting experienceOr High School diploma / GED and 10 years of Accounting experience Preferred Qualifications:Educational background in Accounting or FinanceDynamic accounting/finance experience including corporate level public company experienceProfit in Inventory (PII) Elimination process and accounting transaction experience in physical vs financial inventory flow.CPA, Audit, Public Accounting experienceExperience in driving and implementing changeExperience managing outsource partner relationshipExperience in financial system implementationExperience in US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Foreign Currency transaction accounting and understanding concepts to translate into mentorship for financial reportingExperience in other functional accounting areas (i.e., cost, cash, investments)Detail orientated; strong business analytical and data analysis skillsStrong written, verbal communication and presentation skills (English and Spanish)Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage multiple deliverableInfluence at all levels including senior management, functions and geographiesAbility to work in a cross-functional team environmentGets Results Sets compelling goals and aggressive schedules for improvement while remaining flexible in a constantly evolving environmentDigital literacy including spreadsheet software, Blackline, ServiceNow and SAPFinancial business understandingOrganizational skillsAbility to demonstrate judgment and make appropriate recommendationsThriveWhat you can expect of us As we work to develop treatments that take care of others, we also work to care for our teammates professional and personal growth and well-being. The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
