Program Manager, Propulsion Systems - Level 5

The Advanced Development Programs (ADP) Integrated Systems team is looking for an exceptional Program Manager for a Special Program.

What You Will Be Doing


This position reports to the Program Senior Manager within Vehicle Systems and will be responsible for managing all aspects of the design, development (SW and HW), procurement, systems integration and test, production support and sustainment of the propulsion systems for a complex weapons system.

The Program Manager for Propulsion Systems will oversee a cross-functional, multi-site team comprised of Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Production Operations, Quality & Mission Success and Sustainment.

The PM will be responsible for delivering integrated vehicle systems while meeting cost, schedule, and system performance objectives.

This PM must be comfortable working in a highly dynamic customer environment, be comfortable managing large scale subcontractors, and be able to translate dynamic customer needs into an actionable plan aligned with the overall objectives of the program.

Program Manager for Propulsion Systems is expected to routinely brief executive level leadership within Lockheed Martin and with the customer.

This PM is expected to run significant portions of major program reviews, and drive program execution across a diverse team.

This position may be filled in Cincinnati OH at a vendors site.


Candidates must have an active Secret security clearance (last completed investigation within 6 years) and must be a US citizen.

This position is located at a facility that requires Special Access. Remote work is not possible.

This position is expected to travel quarter to half time.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher education
  • Program or Project Management experience
  • Experience in the development of a complex air vehicle or weapon system
  • Experience building and managing cross-functional, cross-site teams
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Experience managing programs with significant subcontractor content
Desired Skills:

  • Experience in the design, development, integration and test, of one or more vehicle subsystems
  • 4 or more years of Program or Project Management experience
  • Experience managing software development projects
  • Experience with Dassault 3D Experience (3DX)
  • Experience with digital engineering, manufacturing, and management tools
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering
  • Experience managing projects within Confluence and/or JIRA
  • Experience presenting to Lockheed Martin and customer senior leadership
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
