Job Summary:

The Marine Propulsion Systems Leader is a critical role within GE Aviation, responsible for driving technical requirements, design decisions, and risk management to ensure the successful development and implementation of marine propulsion systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of marine programs, ensuring timely completion and technical quality excellence.
  • Provide key technical direction on large projects with critical business impact, aligning with certification agency requirements and industry standards.
  • Facilitate communication of technical and business information between organizations and within the work group, ensuring effective collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Communicate technical data and recommendations to internal and external GE customers, promoting a deep understanding of marine propulsion systems.
  • Ensure proper documentation of technical efforts, maintaining accurate records and facilitating knowledge transfer.
  • Provide technical guidance and promote professional growth through timely performance feedback, coaching, and counseling.
  • Conduct component and product integration, ensuring seamless collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
  • Manage product and systems requirements, specifications, and flow-down, driving validation and verification activities for the overall product/system.
  • Define product requirements for module/component/subcontractor teams, managing interface between components and execution organizations.
  • Manage the overall product configuration and configuration control system, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
  • Develop specialized knowledge in systems engineering, serving as a best practice/quality resource and contributing to strategy and policy development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in systems engineering.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects, document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Established project management skills, with experience in marine gas turbine package engineering and ship propulsion system integration.
  • Master's Degree in engineering, with Six Sigma or Lean certifications.
