Respond to fire alarms for all classes of fires, including those involving radioactive and/or hazardous materials, medical emergencies, rescue operations; wild land fires, hazardous material incidents, and aircraft emergencies.
Assess fire ground conditions for safety; equipment driver/operator to operate pumpers or other emergency vehicles.Rescue people in danger and remove people from buildings and other structures for first-aid treatment.
Perform daily operational checks for both trucks and equipment.
Inspect buildings for hazardous conditions and compliance to fire-code standards.
Respond to on site accidents and other emergencies involving injuries and illnesses to provide basic life support and perform emergency procedures.
Analyze and survey hazardous materials incidents to identify special containers involved, identify or classify unknown materials, and verify the presence or concentrations of hazardous materials.
