ENGIE North America is actively seeking a Utility Plant Operator II to join their team at the University of Iowa Campus, responsible for addressing the energy needs of the university. This role involves managing the safe and efficient operation of power generation equipment including boilers, pumps, air compressors, and other industrial machinery.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of power generation equipment as per directives
  • Communicate essential information verbally and in writing to relevant personnel
  • Maintain plant equipment knowledge and operational status
  • Conduct regular equipment checks and record plant operations accurately
  • Execute housekeeping tasks and support other job roles as needed
  • Perform boiler water testing and treatment
  • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for work orders
  • Adhere to plant safety protocols and procedures
Requirements:
  • High School Degree or equivalent, technical training preferred
  • Three years of experience in industrial or power plant operations
  • Knowledge of solid fuel and/or gas/oil fired water tube boilers
  • Relevant licenses or certifications preferred
Additional Information:
  • Valid State Driver's License required
  • Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • Must have the right to work in the U.S.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Physical fitness to handle equipment operation and maintenance tasks
Working Environment:
  • Indoor and outdoor work environment with exposure to varying conditions
  • Noisy and potentially hot/dusty plant environment
