Position Overview

The Utility Systems Technician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing piping systems related to steam, water, and other utilities. This role involves working with various utility distribution systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. The technician will engage in both preventative maintenance and emergency repairs, contributing to the overall efficiency of the utility operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on utility distribution piping systems.
  • Perform repairs on high-pressure systems and associated equipment.
  • Install and troubleshoot various utility components, including pumps, valves, and meters.
  • Maintain accurate records of service activities and system documentation.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure safety protocols are followed during all operations.
  • Assist in coordinating building shutdowns for maintenance work, prioritizing safety and communication with stakeholders.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of four years of experience in pipefitting, welding, plumbing, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of utility systems and safety standards.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and schematics.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and working in confined spaces.

Work Environment

This position requires outdoor work and exposure to various weather conditions. The technician must be prepared to wear personal protective equipment as necessary and adhere to safety regulations at all times.
