Job Overview

Position Summary:

As a key player in our packaging operations, you will oversee the quality assurance of our products during the packing process, ensuring they meet or exceed customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain high standards of product quality throughout the packing process.
  2. Support various plant operations, including but not limited to:
    1. Efficient handling of cartons by packers.
    2. Adherence to daily planning as confirmed with plant supervision.
    3. Accurate printing and verification of labels in collaboration with management.
    4. Ensuring compliance of cases with customer specifications.
  3. Verify that carton dates align with customer requirements.
  4. Provide suitable packing materials for production.
  • Ensure that palletized cases are properly labeled, sealed, and stacked to meet quality standards.
    1. Adhere to all relevant regulations, including USDA standards, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Food Safety Programs.
  2. Cross-train and demonstrate flexibility in performing various roles within the processing plant.
  3. Assist in the operation of machinery and support packing functions.
  • Coordinate with shipping teams to ensure timely dispatch.
  1. Follow established quality programs related to packaging materials and documentation.
  2. Proactively resolve issues that can be addressed during daily operations.
  3. Communicate effectively with supervisors and staff regarding product changes.
  4. Foster a collaborative environment by maintaining open communication with all team members.
  5. Prioritize safety for yourself and your colleagues by:
    1. Complying with safety regulations.
    2. Reporting unsafe conditions immediately.
    3. Maintaining a clean work area.
  6. Promptly clean any spills or debris.
  7. Dispose of waste in designated containers.
    1. Be aware of moving equipment in your vicinity.
    2. Understand safe operation of equipment such as overwrap machines, forklifts, and pallet jacks.
  8. Report mechanical issues or quality concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  9. Complete additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with egg grading machinery is advantageous but not required.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Strong reading and comprehension abilities for following instructions and documenting processes.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Capability to twist, bend, and stand for extended periods on various surfaces.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to reach and lift items overhead.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
