About the role

We are seeking an Executive Assistant to join our Global Corporate Audit team in Brooklyn, NY. You will be a key member of the team committed to supporting National Grid in achieving its objectives by providing support to our Global Head of Audit (GHA) and Business Head of Audit (BHA) in a timely and professional manner. You will also provide high-quality administrative and clerical support to the GHA, BHA and other members of the Corporate Audit leadership team.

Our Executive Assistants play a crucial role, working closely with the Executive you'll look after their world by extensively and proactively managing diaries and emails, organize travel and accommodation, understanding and prioritizing key activities to assist in achieving deadlines. As Executive Assistant to the Global Head of Audit and the Business Head of Audit you will also coordinate meetings, seminars, conferences, where required, and dinners including Direct Reports and team meetings.

We are specifically seeking a highly organized and forward-thinking individual with excellent communication skills and an individual who can work in an ever-changing fast-paced pressurized environment. You will have the ability to work on your own initiative, be really confident but in a professional and discreet manner. As an individual contributor, you will provide personalized assistance ensuring smooth operations and effective communication.

As part of the team, you will provide value-adding support to improve the overall performance and culture of Corporate Audit. This position reports to the Global Head of Audit and Business Head of Audit and depending on the work, may include 20% - 30% travel within the US and the UK.

What you'll do
  • Identify and address the needs of senior leaders and perform administrative tasks to ensure our company's workflow runs smoothly:
  • Manage the GHA and BHA schedules, scheduling meetings and planning travel.
  • Act as the administrative point of contract between the GHA and internal / external clients.
  • Effectively manage and coordinate the very busy and ever-changing diary of the GHA and BHA ensuring accurate diary management and timely replies to meeting requests.
  • Work closely with fellow Executive Assistants to collectively coordinate diaries for meetings.
  • Arrange domestic and international flights, accommodations, ground transfers, trains, taxis, restaurants.
  • Assist in the gathering of meeting presentations, recording actions, risks and issues, communicating outcomes and ensuring actions are completed and risks and issues are updated.
  • Maintain a forward planning "virtual file" with daily and weekly files, documents, pack and agendas for meetings.
  • Proactively identify areas of improvement and provide value adding and insightful recommendations
  • Provide tactical support to implement ideas
  • Work with GHA and leadership team to deliver, monitor and communicate progress towards goals
  • Respond to inquiries on behalf of the GHA and BHA
  • Spot gaps and provide recommendations on improvements across the function
What you'll need
  • Minimum five years' Executive Assistant work experience
  • Senior leadership support experience is a plus

Experience in:


• Dealing well with ambiguity and can breaking tasks down into actionable pieces

• Collaborating with a variety of people and roles

• Effectively communicating in English, both written and verbal

• Exercising discretion and confidentiality with sensitive company information at all times

• Organizational skills with an ability to think proactively and prioritize work

• Demonstrating attention to detail and a flexible approach with a "can do" attitude to work
