HERFF JONES, Manufacturing Associate (Seasonal) – Edwardsville, KS

Location: 2525 Midpoint Dr, Edwardsville, KS 66111

Hours: Hours vary due to peak season Monday through Friday. Mandatory overtime during peak season including weekends.

  • 1ST 6AM-2PM, M-F $20.71 per hour
  • 2ND 2PM-10PM, M-F $20.71 per hour + $.75 Shift Differential
  • 3RD 10PM-6AM, M-F $20.71 per hour + $1.25 Shift Differential

This is a Seasonal position until mid June with potential to convert to a full-time regular position based on attendance, productivity and availability of positions.

YOUR OPPORTUNITY:

The Herff Jones Operations team, based in Edwardsville, KS is looking for a Manufacturing Associates to join our Bindery team.

HERE'S HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT:

As a member of the Yearbook Bindery Production Team, you will operate equipment at established speed, using established methods to produce binding, meeting customers reasonable expectations.

  • Maintain good working relationship with lead person and fellow workers
  • Communicate with all employees including other shifts
  • Maintain clean and organized work environment
  • Assists in other areas as work backlogs dictate
  • Practice policies regarding safety and personnel/benefit issues
  • Follows all verbal instructions of Bindery Supervisor and machine operator.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING ON A DAILY BASIS:

  • You will be trained on a variety of bindery equipment until you feel comfortable to run by yourself.
  • Works at a fast pace to keep up with the speed of the machine.
  • Performs all needed handwork.
  • Inspects work after completion
  • Mezzanine - Operates collator and/or liner and puts away bundles on mezz.
  • Name Stamping

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • 1-3 months of experience in a high production manufacturing environment which focuses on safety, quality control, and organization
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Must be able to work all hours needed, including overtime and weekends.
  • Basic computer skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to and/or frequently exposed to:

  • Stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Talk and hear
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • Exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud
