The Director, Data Operations is a leader within the Business Intelligence team, responsible for driving the strategic design, development, and maintenance of a scalable and robust data infrastructure that empowers the organization's data-driven decision-making. The Director will collaborate with the VP of Business Intelligence, stakeholders across the organization, and a high-performing team of data engineers and analysts to implement and refine the organization's data strategy, ensuring that data assets are effectively leveraged to achieve business objectives. This role will champion a culture of data literacy and the use of best-in-class data tools and practices within the BI team and the broader organization.
Primary Objectives:
- Data Strategy Execution: Collaborate with the VP of Business Intelligence to execute a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with the organization's overall goals, encompassing data acquisition, governance, quality, accessibility, and utilization.
- Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing team of data engineers and analysts, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Data Architecture & Tools: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of a scalable data architecture that can accommodate diverse data sources. Ensure the effective utilization of modern data tools and technologies such as Airflow, dbt, Python, Airbyte, and similar ingestion tools to streamline data pipelines and enhance data processing capabilities.
- Data Governance: Establish and enforce robust data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality, integrity, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the organization to understand their evolving data needs, identify opportunities for data-driven innovation, and deliver actionable insights that drive business outcomes.

Detailed Job Duties:
- Data Strategy Implementation: Work closely with the VP of Business Intelligence to translate the organization's data strategy into actionable plans and initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and develop a talented team of data professionals, providing guidance, support, and opportunities for growth.
- Data Architecture & Tooling: Design and implement a scalable data architecture that can support a wide range of use cases, from operational reporting to advanced analytics and machine learning. Evaluate and implement modern data tools (Airflow, dbt, Python, etc.) to optimize data processing, transformation, and delivery.
- Data Governance: Develop and enforce data governance policies and procedures that ensure data quality, integrity, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization, actively soliciting their input and feedback, and ensuring that data solutions meet their evolving needs.
- Innovation: Continually evaluate and adopt emerging data technologies and practices to enhance the organization's data capabilities and drive innovation.
- Performance Management: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for the data team and track progress towards achieving strategic goals.

The MUST Haves:
- Seven or more (7+) years of experience in data engineering, data science, or a related field.
- Three or more (3+) years of experience in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of successfully implementing data strategies and delivering measurable business results.
- Strong technical expertise in data architecture, data modeling, data warehousing, data integration, data governance, and experience with modern data tools (Airflow, dbt, Python, Airbyte, etc.).
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- A passion for data and a deep understanding of its potential to drive business transformation.
The NICE to Haves:
- Snowflake certifications (Snowflake SnowPro Core Certification or higher).
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with big data technologies, such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.
- Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence.
Pay Transparency:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $170,000 to $185,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include, but are not limited to; the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, the type and length of knowledge and skills for the position, education, training, etc. Prodege is a multi-state employer and final compensation within this range could be impacted by work location. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.

Prodege offers a comprehensive benefits package to US Full-time employees including medical, dental, vision, STD, LTD and basic life insurance. Employees receive flexible PTO, as well as paid sick leave prorated based on hire date. US Employees have eight paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees receive an option to purchase shares of Company stock commensurate with their position, which vests over four years.
