Job Description

Job Title:
Product Development Specialist

General Summary:
The Specialist will be responsible for product development and work closely with Design & production team. Will have daily communication with internal cross functional partners and external.

Major Responsibilities:
Production Tech packs and the completion of bill of materials.
Initial costing process, creating and maintaining product costing chart for each season in Excel, PowerPoint and illustrator CADS.
Manage, track, monitor and report on sample and delivery status. Maintain the sample status charts.
Communicate daily with overseas service providers as well as with internal cross functional partners regarding status of product samples and materials
Review all samples received and check for accuracy, execution, and understanding of Design's intent.
Label samples and send out to Buyer and/or show room.
Coordinate the sending of development packages and corresponding materials for development samples to Service Provider.
Knowledge in Denim wash. Will need to send out wash comments and sample comments after comparing to wash standard and T/P.
Knowledge of fabrics to be source new fabrics with factories.
In charge of PP sample, marketing sample and wash down approvals
In charge of Shade band approvals
In charge of L/D color approvals
Will also need to approve and compare sample fabric with production.
Garment construction knowledge
Must have private label experience and as well as a confident understanding of Walmart expectations and procedures.

Skills:
Organized with a strong written and verbal communication skill set
Outlook / Excel / PPTX. Proficient
Proficiency in Adobe Suite, Illustrator, Photoshop
Strong understanding of retail math
Team player
Ability to be flexible under project deadlines

Education, Licenses, Certificates, Registrations and/or Experience:
HS Diploma or College Degree
6-8 years prior experience in the industry
*Walmart Experience is a MUST for this position*Salary Range: The pay range of this position is $90k - $100k. Actual salary will be determined based off candidate's skill sets, years of experience, and other job-related factors. This range does not include benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, 401K, and additional company benefits.
