Job Description
The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for Coordinators for Disability Accommodations in the Division of Student Services. The Coordinator conducts intake interviews for new students visiting the Disability Resource Center (DRC) including students with learning, cognitive, physical, visual, hearing and psychological disabilities. The individual assists the Coordinator(s) and Director in implementing appropriate accommodations and is responsible for one or more of the following responsibilities: alternative testing accommodations, auxiliary aids and services, alternative media, assistive technology, individual technology plans, interpreter services, TypeWell transcription, data base management, learning strategies, program reports, and others as needed. The Coordinator maintains records of equipment loans to students.
The Disability Resource Center (DRC) provides services for students who qualify for assistance, seek accommodations, and are registered with the DRC. Under the supervision of the Director, the Coordinator is responsible for the implementation of accommodations for students and ensures that the University remains in compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act as well as the Americans with Disability Act As Amended (ADAAA).
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of related work experience OR
Master's degree and one (1) year of related work experience.
Related Experience: Experience working with persons with disabilities and implementing Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and Title II of the ADAA or related experience.
