The Senior Clinical Systems Analyst will be responsible for coordinating the implementation, enhancement, and maintenance of peer review and other health information systems. This role requires a strong background in healthcare information systems, a deep understanding of regulatory requirements, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to improve the quality of patient care.
Essential Duties:
Responsible for coordinating the implementation, enhancement, and maintenance of peer review and other health information systems.Have thorough understanding the organization's workflow, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing technological solutions to enhance overall health system performance.Optimize clinical analytics and reporting to meet organizational objectivesProvide training to healthcare staff on the use of new systems and technologies and offer ongoing support to address issues, troubleshoot problems, and facilitate a smooth transition to new processes.Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to health information systems. Provide recommendations for system improvements and updates based on evolving best practices.Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers in relaying information in a timely manner.Able to provide instruction to hospital and department staff regarding use of standardized spreadsheets and graphical presentations.Use of MS office and data entry into computerized databases.Create spreadsheets and tables, utilizing functions (formulas) and manipulating the data to retrieve desired information.Able to retrieve data and support department needs from Vizient data bases, Peer review system, RL6 systems, Cerner Health Analytics, 3M 360, and other applicable data bases.Assures that Peer review system is functioning properly.Restricts access to the various data bases to maintain the integrity of the data.Maintain peer review system to provide reports by service, attribution, and location and for MD profiles, OPPE, and FPPEGreet and assist all customers by providing them with the information needed. Establishes rapport with other departments in responding to their data needs.Data Entry & Report Preparation - Enter data in a timely manner, ensuring that all information is accurate.Prepare reports for committee meetings and other hospital departments/services as requested by department leadership.Maintains a file of requests for other reports from hospital staff.Assists with data entry and report preparation for all new system implementation Initiatives.Supports Quality staff needs for reports as well as running showcase reports required for peer review activityFormats these reports in an excel spreadsheet utilizing statistical tools to assure meaningful data for Medical Staff Committee meetings. Reports have benchmark information from historical data and or external literature.Assists with maintenance of department equipment by interfacing with IS and Perot or other applicable areas. Assures data base files and computer records are easily retrievable.Maintains high level of confidentiality of materials, process and work product as required by departmental, hospital and health system policy and any applicable law or regulation.Performs other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications:Req Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Computer Science Computer science, information systems, informatic discipline, or a related fieldReq 5 years Practical experience in supporting the data preparation requirements of an interdisciplinary team in a large-scale data analytic context.Req 3 years Experience in a healthcare environmentReq Experience in Descriptive and Inferential statistics, methods required to optimize the acquisition, storage, retrieval, and use of information in a healthcare environment.Req Experience in redesigning clinical processes to improve efficiency and patient care, preferably in conjunction with the implementation of a clinical information systemReq Extensive experience in healthcare peer review processes and other information systems.Req T-SQL ExperienceReq Project management experience, including the ability to lead and implement system enhancements.Req Must be knowledgeable about existing programs available for data validation and data cleansing and have experience with high-level analytical tools and data formatsReq Demonstrate well developed and proven organizational, problem solving, analytical, customer service and oral and written communication skillsReq Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills for collaboration with diverse stakeholders.Req a proven track record in clinical informatics including but not limited to hospital information systems (HIS), electronic medical records (EMR), and electronic health records (EHR)Req Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards of data accuracy and integrity.Preferred Qualifications:Pref Master's degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS) Computer Science Computer science, information systems, informatic discipline, or a related field.Required Licenses/Certifications: Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)The annual base salary range for this position is $95, $158, When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
