About the Opportunity:
As the HR Director - Manufacturing & Quality reporting to the Chief HR Officer, you'll play a crucial role in aligning business priorities with talent strategy for Life Fitness's largest function. You'll act as a strategic partner to the SVP - Operations, developing HR strategy and initiatives and playing a leadership role on the Life Fitness HR and Manufacturing business teams.
**this is a hybrid position based out of either our manufacturing plants in Minnesota OR Global HQ in Rosemont, IL - local and international travel expectations, will vary depending on primary location** #LI-Hybrid
What you will be responsible for (responsibilities):
- Setting the vision, direction, and culture for a team of highly experienced HR Managers across three vertically integrated plants (two in Minnesota, one in Hungary)
- Working with senior leadership to build and implement a people strategy that supports a world-class customer experience, profitable growth, and operational excellence
- Leading workforce development programs and plans for Manufacturing & Quality
- Partnering with HR Managers and Manufacturing leadership to drive effective talent acquisition, succession planning, talent development, coaching, compensation, engagement, and performance enablement programs that support the Operations strategy, projects, and change initiatives
- Leveraging a variety of tools, resources, and data to diagnose the underlying causes of key business issues in order to develop programs that improve business performance and enhance employee engagement
- Proactively exploring, identifying, evaluating, and proposing options to resolve complex HR issues, working with employees and managers and advocating for the best possible approach for all
- Participate in and lead various global, Company-wide people initiatives
- Other projects and responsibilities as assigned
What we are looking for in our HR Director - Manufacturing & Quality (qualifications):
- Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or other related field of study
- 10+ years of experience in Human Resources supporting manufacturing and leading multi-location HR teams (durable goods manufacturing preferred)
- Demonstrated leadership in various HR functional areas, especially talent acquisition, organizational development, and change management for both hourly and salaried workforces
- Demonstrated experience determining and mitigating current and forecasted workforce challenges, and driving resolution that aligns with business goals
- A deep knowledge of HR programs and practices, including applicable state and federal employment laws and regulations pertaining to both hourly and salaried populations
- Experience with process improvement approaches; Lean Strategy Deployment preferred
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally ~ if based in Minnesota: 20% - to HQ in Chicagoland area, other plant locations in MN and Hungary; if based in Chicagoland area, 30-40% travel to plant locations
