A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright

Works and learns, under the direction of a senior worker, from drawings, specifications, and instructions to construct, operate, and maintain microwave and multiplex systems, mobile radio systems (including base stations, control circuits, and mobile radios), power line, open wire and cable carrier systems, digital systems, data circuits, DC power systems used for communication equipment.

The essentials

·One year of experience working in the telecommunication, electronics and/or electricity field.

·One year of experience operating mechanical and electrical equipment, drive trucks, vans, or similar vehicles

·Maintain a valid US Driver's license.

·Perform hard physical labor, identify color coded cable, and ability to act effectively in the indicative duties listed above.

·The knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job are of a level comparable to those normally acquired through a trade school or high school education and experience in related electrical and electronic work.

·Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.

·Work Mode\: This position's work mode is On-site. The employee will report to an SCE facility or in the field location. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.

·This position requires testing and applicants who are identified to continue through the selection process will be invited to test via email. Please access our Information Guides to reference tests\:

o5107 – EEI TECH Test

o2982 – Jr. Communications Technician Test

·Must be available to take tests in Rosemead, CA on a short notice.

·Position will require up to 75% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.

·This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.

·Relocation does not apply to this position.

·Position will have up to an 18 – month probationary period upon start date to promote, and/or transfer within other union openings.
