Job Purpose
In this role you will be a business partner to Managing Director, LA Productions working closely with senior stakeholders to drive business performance and to shape the strategy of the business. You will be responsible for ensuring a strong control environment in place to support the business and will be responsible for driving alignment in business processes and identifying efficiencies. You will work closely stakeholders from across BBC Studios from Production and Editorial Business, Legal and Finance communities.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Working alongside the senior management of LA Production you will lead the Corporate and Production Finance team to driving analysis to support decision making and strategic choices proactively shaping the performance and reporting efficiency.
- Driving insightful analysis in order to support decision making and strategic choices to enable delivery of the long range plan. Provide advisory support to leadership. Partner with finance colleagues to share best practice and alignment in processes and controls.
- Provide financial leadership and appraisal on local ad hoc investments
- Prepare quarterly forecasts and annual budgets and work with leadership to create long range plan.
- Use benchmarks, industry knowledge and external input to drive efficiency across the business. Lead initiatives and ensure accurate reporting on progress.
- Lead initiatives to drive change and improve business performance, influencing the annual long-term strategic plan. Finance lead on pan genre and new business projects.

- Qualified accountant, with a recognised accounting qualification (ideally CPA or equivalent).
- Post-qualification experience gained in a large, preferably global, commercial organisation.
- Experience in a Media Production/Distribution Company. Experience in company acquisitions, the negotiation of deals and an understanding of the production and television industry.
- Experience of working with a range of stakeholders and demonstrable experience of leading initiatives and implementing change.
- Demonstrable experience of reporting financial performance, budgeting and forecasting, and long range plans aligned to strategic objectives.
- Experience of implementing continuous improvement initiatives in a business is desirable.
The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $260,000 to $280,000 with a 25% company bonus. This range does not include other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and geographic location of the position.
This range is not inclusive of a flexible, hybrid working schedule & benefits including but not limited to: 100% BBCS covered medical & dental insurance, vision, & 401k match.
