Key job responsibilities
AWS Finance seeks a world class Financial Analyst.

This position works closely with senior business partners and finance professionals at all levels to drive thoughtful analysis and controllership on AWS's products.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Influencing business partner decisions through education and collaboration on marginal costs, pricing, customer adoption, etc.
  • Collaborating with business partners to build and maintain detailed cost models by product/service
  • Driving the financial planning/budgeting activities
  • Preparing and providing financial reporting including communicating future financial risks and opportunities to the business
  • Developing and standardizing financial reporting
  • Working on ad hoc financial analyses and projects
A day in the life
A successful candidate will implement and drive the core financial processes for the business. Additional responsibilities include helping refine the capacity planning processes and modeling improvements to help drive positive Free Cash Flow.


This role requires a self-starter with a strong financial modeling background, problem solving skills, a keen attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations, and solid skills in project management.

This role has regular interaction with various business units across Amazon and requires strong people skills.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
  • 3+ years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience
  • 3+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
  • 3+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
  • 3+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process reengineering, quality assurance) experience
  • Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
  • MBA, or CPA
  • Experience working with largescale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets.

The base pay for this position ranges from $56,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market.

Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
