Position Overview

The Senior Financial Analyst for the AWS Deals Desk will play a crucial role in supporting the dynamic AWS organization by conducting in-depth financial analysis of intricate private pricing agreements. This position is highly visible and requires collaboration across various functions, including sales teams, sales operations, business development, and service finance.

Key Responsibilities

As a strategic partner, you will:
  • Assess the financial implications of complex deals and assist in operational processes, business growth, and forecasting.
  • Develop and enhance models, tools, and systems to capitalize on business opportunities, drive automation, and strengthen internal controls.
  • Deliver financial stewardship and analytical insights into critical financial and operational performance metrics.
  • Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, including senior leadership.

Essential Duties

In this role, you will:
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of AWS services and their economic impact on customer profitability.
  • Provide financial insights to the sales team to positively influence private pricing agreements.
  • Ensure financial compliance over private pricing deals by adhering to established policies.
  • Refine financial models that assess customer profitability.
  • Effectively articulate ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Oversee specific processes from a financial perspective, driving improvements and efficiencies.
  • Build relationships and foster continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Balance core responsibilities with project-related tasks through effective prioritization and communication.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you should possess:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field.
  • A Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have:
  • An MBA or CPA certification.
  • Experience with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
  • Exceptional analytical skills with a proven ability to create financial models for forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Experience conducting ad hoc analysis using advanced Excel and providing strategic recommendations to senior management.
  • A background in continuous improvement projects that enhance controllership with measurable outcomes.
  • Experience in financial modeling and P&L management.
