General job duties. Types of procedures required.

- Performs diagnostic radiology examinations in accordance with department policies, procedures, and protocols.

- Prepares patient for procedures by explaining the procedure to the patient, in a manner that creates an environment where the patient is comfortable and at ease during the procedure.

- Positions patients properly to obtain the best image while providing a calm and caring demeanor. Utilizes the proper positioning and placement protocols to ensure images are taken in accordance with the provider's directions

-Sets the equipment to obtain the best density, detail, and contrast of the area being imaged.

-Takes preventative steps to avoid unnecessary exposure to radiation. Follows Health and Safety Policies and Procedures of quality patient care.

-Assists in record maintenance and statistics as requested.

-Recognizes, reports, and records observations and care provided in compliance with SCHS policies and regulatory agencies.

-Stocks unit, transports patients, and assists in keeping the unit clean and free of clutter.

-Cleans equipment and helps identify need for maintenance.

GE Portable x-ray with Konica DR, GE Rad Rooms with Konica DR

Required skills and minimum years of experience.

1 years minimum experience

Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required.

Oregon Board of Medical Imaging License, ARRT, BLS

Shift or schedule requirements.

Variable shifts. Weekends are requried and call averages one night every other week with weekends every 4th.

Floating to other units/departments.

XRay. Bend and Redmond - This position provides coverage in the OR and ER

Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.

Four XR rooms in Bend, two in Redmond.
