Research Scientist

Job Summary
The Research Analyst plays a critical role in our translational research program, supporting our current drug development program by collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, faculty, industry partners, and core services across the IU Indianapolis campus and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute complex laboratory experiments, adhering to research techniques and procedures.
- Develop and implement procedures and protocols in collaboration with leadership.
- Prepare and analyze research reports for projects.
- Maintain safety records and ensure compliance with safety procedures and protocols.
- Provide guidance and support to junior-level staff in laboratory operations.
- Contribute to grant applications and grant-related activities to secure funding for research projects.

Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted for education.
Education
Required
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Preferred
- Master's degree in a related field.
Work Experience

- 3 years of related work experience.

Working Conditions/Demands
The role regularly requires effective communication. The role frequently requires the ability to move about the work environment and to position oneself to operate laboratory equipment effectively. The role requires the ability to move objects weighing up to 25 pounds and will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
