Senior Field Checker

The Senior Field Checker inspects all-electric facilities relating to the transmission, primary, and secondary systems. These facilities include all conductors, all primary structures, secondary services, neutral, network, distribution transformers, meters, lights, and customer-connected items like the city traffic lights and Christmas lights. The lights include both streetlights and private lights. This position reviews all graphical elements placed in GIS for field integrity and the connectivity for distribution transformers in EnQuesta and high-side and low-side voltage configurations in Cascade. The Senior Field Checker performs queries from the multiple databases supporting lighting records to verify the integrity between the systems and the billing of the streetlights. This position also conducts other field-checking activities, emphasizing the accuracy of all graphical data and billing accuracies regarding items connected to the secondary systems.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
-Utilize the current graphics software package to keep various records up to date, including but not limited to the following: premise information, databases, NJUNs assistance, graphical design drawings, and completing Work Orders.
-Field check secondary and services for all major work performed in the field, such as major reconductoring work, 4kV conversions, road widening, and circuit reconfigurations.
-Field check distribution transformers and correct records for customer connectivity as identified by the AMI voltage profile readings and correct records for high-side and low-side voltage configurations in Cascade.
-Field check basic components of the fiber outside plant system.
-Review network customers and update enQuesta records for customer connectivity.
-Field check all lights, streetlights, and private lights, as necessary.
-Update graphical records, billing records, and connectivity records.
-Initiate CAD jobs to repair items not correct in the field.
-Perform queries to check the integrity of all transmission and distribution facilities and their corresponding connectivity lighting data systems.
-Provide data for the monthly city streetlight bills.
-Work with accounting and billing to resolve specific billing questions regarding lights.
-Assist other field checkers with electrical, fiber, and various physical field checks as needed.
-Perform scout, bird dog duties, and other responsibilities during storm conditions.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
-Associate's Degree with electrical-related experience with 5+ years of related training and experience preferred.
-Possess good PC skills, troubleshooting, customer service, and oral and written communication skills.
-Knowledge of all standard safety practices, procedures, and hazards associated with this position.
CERTIFICATIONS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
-Possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in state of residence and demonstrate safe and responsible operation of motor vehicles.
-Ability to use many different software systems.
-Outdoors 70% to 80% of the time; normally can schedule field work to avoid severe weather conditions.
-Must follow established safety practices and procedures.
