Your new team
Based in the United States, you will join Our Client's Public Affairs team, sharing responsibilities with other policy advocates / thought leaders responsible for developing and improving the processes and systems in which Our Client and its stakeholders work. Responsibilities include helping to execute a strategic plan designed to promote Our Client's mission and commercial interests in a 'circular economy.' You must maintain a high level of current knowledge concerning the 'circular economy', Our Client, and stakeholder viewpoints; and feel very comfortable representing Our Client, engaging in the exchange of ideas, and supporting coalitions. Verbal and written communication skills will be utilized.
Your mission
As a member of the Public Affairs team, you will use your deep understanding of developing public policy, and your analytical and communications skills to help us develop modern Circular Economy programs to solve big problems like waste and pollution. Specifically, you will communicate and develop policy that values their mission todevelop and promote high performing 'circular'operating and business models.
You will develop an understandingoftheir markets, business models, stakeholders, technology, and services while collaborating closely with other team members in advocacy, communicating, and campaigning.
In short, you will help contribute towards creating a Circular Economy.
Your profile
·You are interested in the transition towards aCircular Economy,including the technologies and policies that can help get us there.
·You have at least 5 years working experience in advocacy, public affairs, or government relations in the United States.
·You have a bachelor's degree in political science, history, communications, environmental studies, or another related field.
·Master's degree in any of the above preferred.
·Must have a useful understanding of the workings of the legislative process and the state executive branch.
·You are enthusiastic about creating practical solutions that get the job done while maintaining ambitious standards.
·Experience working with trade associations and NGOs.
·Strong oral and written communication skills
·Able to effectively communicate with both internal and external stakeholders on complex issues in compelling ways.
·You are comfortable and experienced in public speaking and social media.
·You are fluent in English (both written and verbal)
·You feel confident and comfortable communicating concepts and technology with technical and non-technical stakeholders in clear and understandable ways.
·You have strong analytical, interpersonal,collaborative,and organizational skills.
·You can understand financial and business development concepts.
·You have strong quantitative analysis skills, with the ability to extract insights even when sources arescarce,or data points seem ambiguous.

Your responsibilities
·You will contributetothe positioning of the Public Affairs-Americas team asa thought leader towards policy makers, commercial stakeholders, ENGOs, and their cross-functional business unit – enabling them to make well-informed decisions.
- Frequent communication with various stakeholder groups includingpublic policymakers and administrators, other departments within the company, business partners and customers.
- Work with different stakeholders including business associations, environmental non-governmental organizations, lobbyists, media, and research consultants.
- Develop Our Client's 'thought leadership.'
- Drive campaigns that introduce or modernize 'circular' policies, and the Our Client systems, technologies and services which enable them.
- Assess and gain extensive understanding of the political, environmental, societal, and legal frame conditions.
·You will draw out relevant insights and present them in a compelling format.
·You will develop 'subject matter expertise' over time through learning and doing.
- Work with the MARCOM team to create compelling, eye-catching materials for both print and digital formats, drafting talking points, and developing program toolkits for key internal stakeholders; as well as resources for TOMRA partners and affiliated grass-roots organizations that strengthen and promote both Our Client's leadership brand and modern EPR policies.
- Participate in industry stakeholder initiatives to advance Our Client's positions.
- Engage Our Client and coalition employees into political action.
- Develop a network of key relations and engage consistently.
