Offshore Geotechnical Engineer

TGRC is seeking a qualified Offshore Geotechnical Engineer to join our dedicated team in Boston, MA. This role involves pivotal support for a wide array of renewable energy and infrastructure projects, with a focus on offshore development.
Position OverviewDuration: 12-month contract
Location: Boston, MA
Experience: Experience in energy projects beneficial
Compensation: $60 per hour
The Offshore Geotechnical Engineer will play an essential role in our project teams, focusing on the unique challenges presented by offshore environments. Your responsibilities will include:
- Subsurface Investigation: Conduct detailed offshore investigations, including drilling and sampling, to collect data on seabed, soil, and rock properties.
- Geotechnical Analysis: Analyze collected geological data to determine physical properties, assess risks, and provide recommendations for foundation design and construction methods.
- Engineering Design Support: Assist in the design of offshore structures such as wind farms, oil platforms, and other related infrastructure, ensuring that they are safe, sustainable, and optimized for the marine environment.
- Risk Management: Evaluate and manage geotechnical risks associated with offshore projects, developing strategies to mitigate potential issues related to soil and rock mechanics.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including marine biologists, environmental scientists, and structural engineers to integrate geotechnical findings with overall project planning.
- Documentation and Reporting: Generate comprehensive reports and documentation to support project development, compliance, and implementation processes.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Proven experience in geotechnical engineering, particularly in offshore settings related to renewable energy or large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Strong proficiency in geotechnical engineering software and tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to dynamic project requirements.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to produce detailed technical reports.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
