This is a critical leadership role and you will be responsible for the strategic direction and roadmap. You will partner with other teams to drive new initiatives and deliver new hardware products and features. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of hardware, cloud architecture and experience leading large organizations.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Director for AI Infrastructure Optical Network Performance, you will lead a highly skilled team of engineer looking at performance optimization and innovation in the optical networks space. This team will work closely with our Networking teams to understand and optimize our Optical network investments and recommend relevant investments while performing in our long term vision in this space. This team will also help communicate Optical network standard methodologies and review qualification and validation processes to ensure we have the most performant optical network to support RDMA interconnections. Run and review diagnostic and troubleshooting processes to support our work. Ensure successful large AI infrastructure Network buildout and releases based on our AI infrastructure strategy.

  • Direct, lead and mentor a team of optical network engineers.
  • Keep abreast of new technologies, industry standard methodologies, ensuring compliance and driving innovation within Optical Networking for the organization.
  • Act as a leader with vision and trusted advisor to the SVP of AI infrastructure.
  • This role will require leadership partnering across multiple organizations within the Compute, Networking and Hardware Product Groups.
  • Partner with Product to recommend an effective AI infrastructure Optical network strategy to improve performance and stability for AI infrastructure workloads.
  • Collaborate with key partners, including customers, industry authorities, and internal teams, to understand technology trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape, crafting the optical network roadmap and strategy accordingly.
  • Lead the team to develop processes that support Optical network optimization for AI workloads
  • Work with executive leadership to develop a robust GTM Strategy and support Product managers launching new SKUs in different regions.
  • Be an inspiring leader for defining the Optical network strategy and program for cloud compute.
  • Establish relationships with industry and research through exec level engagements.
  • Maintain courteous, professional, and effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Defining new critical metrics to advise decision making and prioritization.
  • Providing regular updates and interacting with executive management to influence the portfolio.
  • Sets Goals and Expectations for performance and works with employees to establish specific, measurable goals and commitments.
