Position Overview

In this role you will serve as the Senior Business Finance Analyst within the Business Finance Regulatory Support group supporting Electric, Gas, and IT Operations. As a member of the Regulatory Support team, you will be responsible for supporting the regulatory process for the above functional areas, including addressing data requests and liaising with the regulatory team to ensure appropriate compliance and reporting. A particular focus will be regulatory filings including preparing the forecast for regulatory filing, reviewing recorded data for regulatory attributes, understanding the rate case calendar and how business finance will help to make a strong regulatory filing.

You will coordinate with Regulatory Affairs, the various and functional areas' regulatory strategy and internal business finance teams to ensure regulatory compliance while serving as a business partner focusing on the regulatory needs from business finance. You will balance and utilize your functional expertise, intellectual curiosity, ethics, and people skills to build and maintain integrative relationships and ensure best in class decision and information reporting support.

The role is hybrid working from your remote office and in-person at the Oakland General Office, 0-4 days monthly, on average, or based on business needs or company requirements.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $98,000

Bay Area Maximum: $146,000

Job Responsibilities

  • Partner with the functional area Business Finance team and Regulatory teams to drive compliance and execute business goals and priorities as relates to regulatory filings and reporting.
  • Establish and maintain effective partnerships aimed at identifying and understanding the business needs and providing relevant information and guidance.
  • Support Regulatory reporting and filing.
  • Act as a consultant to the Business Finance and Regulatory teams on data management needs.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards to support reporting processes and goals.
  • Presents findings and makes recommendations to management or others within organization.
  • Performs complex quality assurance on data to ensure accurate data is used in reports, and resolve issues as needed.
  • Works on moderately complex problems that require in depth analysis and judgment to obtain results or solutions.
  • Assists in developing and tracking metrics that provide data for process measurement, business operations or risk assessment.
  • Informal mentorship of analysts and associates.
  • Communicates (oral and written) recommendations and findings to leaders and officers.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience or training
  • 3 years of related work experience

Desired Skills & Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of SAP R3, SAP BW
  • Ability to execute tactically as well as depict the whole idea / strategic analysis
  • Exceptional time management skills to deal with tight deadlines
  • Excellent strategic thinking, communication, and presentation skills
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Successful history of working collaboratively with teams
  • Understanding of Utility Accounting fundamentals and the PG&E cost model
