POSITION SUMMARY

Velocity Global is in search of a Senior Competitive Intelligence and Strategy Manager to steer strategic initiatives and bolster our product marketing efforts. This role is ideal for a visionary leader who can develop and maintain a robust Competitive Intelligence program, leveraging in-depth market analysis and continuous monitoring to inform strategic planning and decision-making.

In this multifaceted role, you will serve as a crucial strategist, working closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams. Your responsibilities will include not only understanding competitive threats and market opportunities but also translating these insights into effective product marketing and go-to-market strategies. Your work will ensure that our business strategies are well-informed and that our product offerings are perfectly aligned with market demands.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Competitive Intelligence Expertise: Develop and oversee a comprehensive Competitive Intelligence (CI) program that supports strategic planning by continuously analyzing market trends, competitive dynamics, and industry developments. This role is key in ensuring the organization maintains its competitive edge through informed decision-making.
  • Market and Field Intelligence: Proactively monitor the competitive landscape and market changes, leveraging insights from an advisory board, industry conferences, and field intelligence to inform executive leadership and staff. Own the competitive messaging and positioning for key segments and competitors.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with sales, product management, engineering, and marketing teams to synthesize competitive advantages and guide strategic go-to-market decisions. This includes defining product requirements, developing sales strategies, and crafting differentiated market positioning.
  • Sales Enablement and Training: Equip the sales team with the necessary tools, insights, and training to effectively counter competition and win key deals. Develop and manage sales training materials, internal reports, and customer-focused campaigns to enhance competitive positioning and market differentiation.
  • Content Development and Management: Create and manage marketing content that highlights the value proposition of our products, including white papers, case studies, blog posts, and sales enablement tools. Manage competitive intelligence tools like Klue to ensure up-to-date and actionable competitive insights are accessible.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  • 5+ years of experience in product marketing, competitive intelligence, or a similar role within the B2B SaaS, HR technology; or at least 3+ years of relevant experience in management consulting
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and persuasively
  • Thrive in cross-functional environments and can effectively collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders and teams
  • Are incredibly organized and efficient-you take on complex projects and own them from start to finish
