What We're DoingBecome a part of something IMPACT-ful Ground Missile Defense (GMD) is the heart of the Missile Defense System and a key element of our nation's defense against ballistic missile attacks.

The GMD Weapon System (GWS) processes data from multiple sensors to identify and characterize the inbound ballistic missile threat, plans the best defensive solution, and launches the intercepting missiles to negate the threat.

The Work This engineer will work closely with the Digital Engineering Infrastructure team on GNI to ensure that various cloud infrastructure platforms are developed and operational for the customer (MDA).

Government security clearance of SECRET or higher is required, and work will be performed at both Northrop Grumman facilities and at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL.

Travel is required from Gateway to the Arsenal on a weekly basis using a personal vehicle, and fuel cost will be non-reimbursable by the government contractor.

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 9 years of related experience or a Master's degree and 6 years of related experience
  • Current DoD Secret Security Clearance or higher
Must have a DOD 8570 IAT Level II certification (ex:
Security + CE)

Must be able to support an in-person, closed-area work environment 100% of the timeDesired Skills:

  • Experience with LAN and WAN management
  • Familiarity with Network Technologies and Cybersecurity
  • Strong systems administrator experience, specifically in Windows/Linux Operating Systems environments

Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.
