The Nurse IV Deputy Chief, Quality & Patient Safety (DCQPS) executes leadership that is characterized by substantial and continuous responsibility and accountability for population groups or integrated programs that cross services and/or discipline lines and influence the organizational healthcare mission.
The DCPQS works under the direction of Chief of QPS to ensure integration of quality and improvement functions and to support continuous readiness efforts; ensures high value care across all clinical domains and robust processes to support the provision of this care; leads efforts to enculturate problem-solving amongst all levels of staff across the health care system in order to improve employee engagement, performance, staff retention, and employee satisfaction; and leads the continued focus on enterprise risk management to actively engage in risk mitigation, with an emphasis on safety as the core component of organizational stability.
The DCQPS supervises positions within QPS composed of registered nurse supervisors for Quality Management and Patient Safety, and registered nurse coordinators for Risk Management, Peer Review, Systems Redesign, and High Reliability Organization (HRO).
