The Senior Director, Strategic Philanthropic Partnerships is
responsible for sustaining, building, and managing strategic
philanthropic partnerships in pursuit of Dana-Farber Cancer
Institute's vision and mission and in support of the Division of
Philanthropy's ambitious revenue goals. Reporting to the Chief
Philanthropy Officer and Senior Vice President, this position will
lead as both an individual contributor, and by leading a team, to
support and galvanize internal and external cohorts of
transformational stakeholders to achieve Institute and
Division-level goals. The Senior Director will develop fundraising
strategies, partner with relevant teams to secure gifts, and
coordinate implementation of new initiatives across Division of
Philanthropy teams to enable long-term fundraising
sustainability.

The onboarding of this role will include a comprehensive
training process which includes completion of online modules,
shadowing colleagues, as well as hands-on learning experiences
throughout the first calendar year in the role.

Dana-Farber is currently undertaking an ambitious fundraising
effort to change the future of cancer research and care: The
Dana-Farber Campaign. This multibillion-dollar campaign is the
largest in the Institute's history and one of the largest ever in
the U.S. focused solely on cancer. Philanthropy raised through The
Dana-Farber Campaign is focused on accelerating the Institute's
strategic priorities by supporting revolutionary science,
extraordinary care, exceptional expertise, and essential
opportunities—helping us prevent, treat, and Defy Cancer.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Accountable for developing and articulating a comprehensive
vision and strategy for philanthropic partnerships that supports
Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's mission and long-term
sustainability.
Manage a growing portfolio of existing strategic partners
including the Pan-Mass Challenge and others (to be determined) in
collaboration with the Chief Philanthropy Officer and Senior Vice
President and other business units.
Responsible for increasing communication, deepening
connections, and ensuring fundraising goals are met with prospect
managers leveraging strategic partnerships. Incubate and
expand the portfolio of strategic partners to include organizations
and groups aligned with the Division of Philanthropy's ambitious
goals.
Develop emerging strategies and tactics in alignment with goals
alongside the Chief Philanthropy Officer and Senior Vice
President.
Lead partnership work, which includes building transformational
relationships covering all aspects of the partnership from prospect
management, planning, day-to-day management, stewardship, and
events.
Work in partnership with the Institute and Division of
Philanthropy leadership to develop multi-annual goals, budgets, and
operating plans.
Collaborate across the Division of Philanthropy to support
individual donor strategies and solicitations, gift proposals,
Comprehensive Gift Strategy Team systems and structures, event
planning and execution, and gift proposals.
Create and establish new leadership engagement opportunities to
leverage Dana-Farber Cancer Institute President and CEO as well as
Division of Philanthropy leadership team members as needed.
Provide reports and updates for Board of Trustee meetings and
reports.
Develop, lead, and maximize direct reports and other staff
supporting the work from different teams to advance goals and
implementation of activities.

Reports to Chief Philanthropy Officer and Senior Vice
President
Hire, onboard, and manage an Assistant Director, Strategic
Philanthropic Partnerships

Minimum Job Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree
preferred. 8-10 years of relevant work experience required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Must be able to exercise good judgment and be comfortable and
confident working with senior Institute and Philanthropy
leaders.
Significant computer skills including all Microsoft Office
Suite products, with a mastery of Excel and PowerPoint, Teams, and
Outlook. Skill using internet sites and resources to retrieve and
provide various information.
Must be able to handle all situations and documentation in a
highly confidential and professional manner.
Excellent written and effective verbal communication skills
required to communicate effectively with donors and a variety of
constituents, vendors, and other individuals and
representatives.
Flexibility and adaptability are required as no day is the same
and change is constant.
Strong team player who seeks opportunities and can work
collaboratively with a variety of partners and work styles across
the enterprise.
Fosters an ethical, positive, results-oriented culture founded
on open communication.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and
priorities.

This position is considered remote, 0-1 days onsite at 10
Brookline Place, Brookline, MA each week. DFCI guidelines state
that employees must reside in New England: Connecticut, Maine,
Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, or Vermont.

Travel, evening, and weekend work may be needed.
