The purpose of the Area Loss Prevention is to increase profitability in the assigned region by utilizing all tools to foster a proactive Loss Prevention presence and to oversee the area's Loss Prevention efforts in order to protect the company's assets, including money, product and employees.

Essential FunctionsLeads all aspects of the assigned area's loss prevention activities
Utilizes Loss Prevention Audit Tools to analyze financial reports and inventory systems data to ensure operational integrity, identify exception trends, minimize exposure and identify training, development and loss prevention opportunities within the branch, hub and region.
Ensures health, safety and wellness protocols are in compliance with company standards
Utilizes risk management tools in order to analyze opportunities to reduce accidents
Develops programs for safeguarding associates, customers, and other company assets; develops strategies to reduce exposure to losses, including accidents
Develops and provides associate training relative to the company's profitability goals and objectives
Initiates, conducts, and manages internal investigations involving theft, fraud, substance abuse, etc.
Executes periodic site visits to perform internal and external threat assessments, training, and investigations
Maintains professional liaison with all local law enforcement officials to ensure appropriate coordination of investigations and/or prosecution; represents the company in court proceedings
Keeps abreast of existing and new relevant laws and regulations; takes actions to ensure compliance, and communicates to appropriate staff members
Reporting Relationship Reports into Director of Loss Prevention Major interdependencies Operations, Commercial, Legal, Finance, Human Resources Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work EnvironmentEducation and Experience The combination of education and professional experience must exceed 6 years In a leadership role: Requires 3 years of experience supervising a team of Loss Prevention professionals engaged in executing Loss Prevention programs.
In a technical role: Requires 6 years of Loss Prevention experience engaged in developing and delivering Loss Prevention programs
A bachelor's degree in a program related to the functional area can count for 3 of the six-year requirement
An MBA or a master's level degree in a program related to the functional area can count for an additional 2 years of six-year requirement
In the industry: 3-5 years of Hospitality, F&B and/or Retail experience
Specialized TrainingTraining that leads to the ability to conduct and manage investigations, ideally with the use of CCTV investigative techniques
Completion of professional development investigative courses such as Wicklander/Zulawski, Reid, SCAN, etc. are required
Training that leads to a strong ability to utilize financial reports and analyze data to identify and resolve internal losses
Training that leads to in-depth knowledge of security industry regulations, as well as state and federal laws/regulations
Knowledge of exception based reporting systems, such as Agilence, required
Knowledge of LP Case Reporting systems, such as ThinkLP, a plus
Specialized Skillset/Competencies/TraitsBusiness acumen and also has the mindset required to understand the long-term implications of Loss Prevention management decisions and to advance the organizations goals
Demonstrated history of understanding the needs of the business, stakeholders, the employee population, and individual circumstances
Demonstrated history of creating and maintaining positive work environments through coaching, developing, and leading teams to achieve common goals
